Transforming Lives International (TLI)

Ministry in Kenya

Transforming Lives International is an approved 501(c) (3) faith-based ministry that has impacted the lives of the poor and disadvantaged in Kenya for the last 10 years. We provide the poor with the tools and knowledge necessary to achieve sustainable spiritual and economic growth in their lives. As a ministry it is our desire is that everyone who comes in contact with TLI is presented with an opportunity to develop a relationship with Christ. We deeply believe that any real change begins with a personal relationship with God. TLI strives to leave a lasting impact by transforming one life at a time.

Our leader in Kenya is Pastor Stella Bor. For the last 10 years Pastor Stella has been working without pay in the slums of Kawangware in Nairobi, transforming many lives in that community. She mostly works with refugees, vulnerable children, and poor families of Kawangwarwe. There is no organizational fat in TLI. Our program is run out of a small rented building in the middle of the slums.

On Sundays they meet for service, afterwards the children are served with a meal and for some that is the only decent meal they will have for that week. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they meet for prayer and bible study. Some days they go out for street ministry.

Children and families receive counseling as needed since Stella is a trained Christian counselor. TLI also pays scholarship/school fees for some children. Currently we are sponsoring 25 children.

My uncle then took me to take care of his cattle. One time the cattle got lost in forest and my uncle was very mad he tried to kill me. God saved me, I managed to escape from my uncle and lived in the forest for 10 days. It was very hard time for me but God protected me from snakes and other wild animals.
